As we wrap up Quarter 2, there is a deep sense of gratitude and excitement for the future of The Gabriel Project of the Crossroads. This season has been marked by progress, purpose, and the beginning of important shifts that position us for long-term impact. We’ve been steadily checking off key tasks that support our organizational goals of...
We’ve focused on goals that make volunteering less burdensome and more enjoyable for our dedicated team. We’ve worked to better balance the workload across the organization and continue striving to make GPOC one of the most desirable nonprofits to be a part of...an organization grounded in faith, compassion, and excellence.
This quarter has reminded us that growth often requires progression with intentionality. As Max De Pree said, “We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.”
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you serve, give, pray, or lead, your role matters, and together, we are answering God’s call to serve mothers and babies with love and dignity.
With Faith and Purpose,
Victoria Gonzales
Executive Director
We are deeply grateful to Deacon Frank Tilley for his faithful service on our Board of Directors. His spiritual leadership and steady presence have been a true blessing to our mission. As he steps away from his role, we honor his contributions with deep gratitude for the impact he has made.
We are pleased to share that we are in the process of welcoming a new member to our Board of Directors. More details will be shared soon.
We are excited to welcome Cindy Benoit as the new Director of our Mother-Baby Outreach program!
Cindy brings over six years of experience advocating for underserved populations through her work with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, HHSC, and multiple early childhood programs. She has held leadership roles including Program Director, Assistant Director, Mental Health/Disabilities Coordinator, and Education Coordinator within Head Start and other community-based organizations.
Cindy holds an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from Victoria College and her Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Houston–Victoria.
In addition to her professional background, Cindy has served faithfully for years as one of our Mentor Angels in Victoria County, walking alongside mothers in crisis with compassion and dedication.
With her heart for service and wealth of experience, we are thrilled to have Cindy leading our outreach efforts. She is already proving to be a tremendous blessing to the mothers and babies we serve across the Crossroads.
We are excited to announce that we will officially launch Casebook on Monday, June 30th!
This new system is a major step toward improving efficiency, consistency, and sustainability across our ministry.
For Outreach: Mentor Angels will now have a simplified, user-friendly way to input case notes without the risk of formatting or system errors. This means better communication, smoother processes, and more time focused on serving moms. Bridget will be sending out login instructions soon, and training will be available for anyone who would like additional support.
For the Maternity Home: Casebook will enhance our ability to organize documentation digitally, making record-keeping more accurate, secure, and accessible for staff.
We’re excited about this move forward and grateful for your adaptability as we grow together in our mission.
Our dedicated Hotline Volunteers answered 57 calls this quarter, each one representing a mother reaching out in a moment of need.
This quarter, our outreach ministry served 20 moms, offering essential support and resources during their time of need. We also welcomed 3 new babies born into our care network...each one a beautiful reminder of why we serve.
This quarter, 20 moms, including 4 from the Maternity Home, completed 259 parenting and life skills courses, earning 5,180 points toward essential baby items.
Through our Mother-Baby Outreach program, we met 21 One Time urgent needs this quarter—providing essentials like cribs, car seats, diapers, and more. Each gift represents timely support and hope for a mom in crisis.
This quarter, we shared the Gospel and prayed with 51 moms, offering them hope, encouragement, and the reminder that they are never alone. Each prayer is a seed planted in love.
"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9.
This quarter, the Bethlehem Maternity Home provided a safe and nurturing environment for 4 mothers and 8 children. We joyfully welcomed one new baby in April, with two more little blessings on the way. Each life reminds us why this ministry matters.
All 4 residents at the Bethlehem Maternity Home are actively participating in Earn While You Learn, completing parenting and life skills courses to earn points for essential baby items. This program empowers our moms to grow in knowledge while preparing for motherhood with confidence.
Residents at the Bethlehem Maternity Home completed an 8-week Parenting Without Shame course and earned certificates for A Fresh Start to a Healthier You through AgriLife. They also attended a Saving for Emergencies class with Frost Bank. All moms are currently enrolled at Victoria College and receive weekly case management to support their goals.
Our residents have participated in 11 Bible studies and are attending church weekly. They also began a 7-week Bible series designed to deepen their faith and understanding of God’s love. Each mom receives ongoing spiritual guidance as part of their journey toward healing and hope.

We are proud to share that our Maternity Home Director, Lori Muniz, recently completed the University of Houston–Victoria's Nonprofit Leadership Academy.
As a member of its inaugural cohort, Lori earned a certificate in nonprofit leadership—an exciting milestone in her professional development.
Congratulations, Lori, on this well-deserved achievement!
At our Bethlehem Maternity Home, we are blessed by the quiet strength and faithful presence of a very special group of volunteers.
These men serve as guardians of our mission, offering their time and talents through maintenance, repairs, and landscaping. Their work may take place behind the scenes, but the impact is deeply felt throughout our home. Every nail hammered, lawn mowed, or repair made is an act of service that reflects humility, strength, and a Christ-like heart.
Their contributions save our organization significant time and resources, and even more importantly, they remind us that every role in ministry—no matter how practical—is sacred.
Thank you to these outstanding men: Eddie Huse, Jerry Guajardo, Mike Bednorz, Anthony Hermes, Dale Hartman, and Shannon Martin.

We are honored to spotlight David Janca, a faithful and kind-hearted volunteer who truly embodies what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ.
David serves as an Angel Delivery Driver, using his own time and resources to deliver much-needed mother and baby supplies, and even Gabriel Project signs, to our outer counties. Always dependable and full of quiet joy, David brings a warm and gentle spirit wherever he goes.
A longtime advocate for The Gabriel Project, David has supported our mission for years, and we are deeply grateful for his dedication. His presence makes a real difference—one mile, one delivery, and one act of love at a time.
We are incredibly grateful for the community partnerships and support that continue to strengthen our mission.
A heartfelt thank-you to Michael Bednorz with Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and his dedicated SpringFest Team for coordinating a wonderful event that not only supports our ministry but blesses others in need. We’re thankful for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful effort once again , and we deeply appreciate our board members and supporters who helped sell and purchase tickets.
We also thank Atzenhoffer Chevrolet for including us in their Community Care Pork Plate Project. Your generosity, and the many who bought and sold tickets, makes a lasting impact.
Special thanks to Chick-fil-A and Mr. Gatti’s for partnering with us to make a difference. Together, these efforts remind us that it truly takes a village to serve moms and babies in need, and we are grateful to be part of such a caring one.
To every individual, family, church, and business that has given—whether through baby items, gift cards, or financial donations—we extend our heartfelt thanks. Your generosity is what keeps this mission alive and thriving.
Every gift, big or small, helps us walk alongside mothers in crisis and provide the support, resources, and hope they need.
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over—will be poured into your lap.”
—Luke 6:38
