Gabriel Project of the Crossroads Q4 Newsletter (Oct - Dec 2024)

A Message from the Executive Director

As I reflect on my first four months with this incredible ministry, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the people I’ve been privileged to serve alongside. It has been a whirlwind of activity, yet each moment has been filled with God’s presence and purpose.

I am continually humbled by the love of Christ I see through our board of directors, staff, volunteers, and donors. Your dedication, compassion, and selflessness inspire me daily. I was reminded of the profound impact of this ministry when I witnessed the joy of a little girl in our maternity home upon her arrival. Her excitement at having a safe and loving place, complete with a bed of her own, was deeply moving. Seeing her resilience and happiness brought me to tears and reaffirmed the importance of the work we are doing.

We have ended the year on a high note, and I am eager to see how we can build on the incredible contributions of all who have supported this mission over the years. As we move forward, I am reminded that The Gabriel Project of the Crossroads is God's ministry. Through His guidance and the influence of the Holy Spirit, we are called to continue His work, providing hope and support to those in need.

Thank you for being part of this journey. May you and your loved ones experience the peace and joy of Christ this Christmas season.

With gratitude and blessings,
Victoria Gonzales
Executive Director

Helping Hands Christmas Project

A Season of Giving and Gratitude

This year, our Helping Hands Christmas Project has been a wonderful demonstration of the generosity and support from individuals, businesses, and churches in our community. Through giving trees, collections, Christmas parties, and events, we received much-needed donations that will sustain us throughout the year.

The donations received through this project will also support Baby’s 1st Christmas Baskets to mother's and babies we've helped in 2024 across 10 counties. We are thrilled to be able to share the spirit of the season with the mothers and babies we assist and provide toys for the children in our care at the maternity home.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, organized events, and helped make this season of giving possible.

Helping Hands Partners

A Prayer of Gratitude and Blessing

Heavenly Father,  We thank You for the generosity of the individuals, businesses, and churches who have blessed us with their gifts. May You return their kindness a hundredfold and bless their work, their homes, and their hearts. Guide them in all they do, and may their generosity continue to shine as a reflection of Your love.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Baby's 1st Christmas Baskets

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers—Linda Palmer, Donna Harryman, Amy Sears, Adele Donelson, and Elizabeth Terry—who generously gave their time to create beautiful Baby’s 1st Christmas baskets for our moms and babies.

Each basket was lovingly filled with donated handmade quilts, crocheted blankets, rattles, toys for siblings, new outfits, sleepers, books, towels, and even a cozy blanket for mom. These thoughtful gifts brought joy and warmth to families during this special season. We are so grateful for the love and care poured into every detail!

Introducing Our Financial Dream Team:

Fred Williams & Stephanie Janak

Our ministry is blessed to have an incredible volunteer team managing our finances. Fred Williams, a longtime volunteer, has dedicated countless hours to ensuring the longevity and stability of our organization. His meticulous work and heartfelt commitment are a cornerstone of our mission's success.

Joining Fred is Stephanie Janak, CPA, a highly skilled professional with years of experience as a tax preparer and auditor. Stephanie brings expertise in tax preparation, bookkeeping, estate and trust taxes, and financial planning. Her background working with individuals and businesses in the Victoria area makes her a tremendous asset to our ministry.

Currently, Fred is training Stephanie on the financial processes of our organization as they prepare to share responsibilities. Together, they make a powerhouse team, ensuring our financial health and paving the way for continued growth and impact.

Giving Tuesday

A Day of Generosity and Giving

We were blessed to witness the power of generosity in action. Thanks to your incredible support, we surpassed the amount raised last year reaching $3,500! This will make this our most successful Giving Tuesday!

We appreciate that the true value of a donation lies not in its size, but the intention behind it.

Maximizing Our Communication Hub

Network For Good

We are excited to share that we are now fully utilizing the Network for Good platform to streamline our communications. By combining our contact lists into this system, it has become the central hub through which we will send important updates, news, and opportunities for involvement.

As we move forward, we want to assure you that we will be mindful of your inbox. We are committed to not overwhelming you with excessive emails or texts. Our goal is to share meaningful information in a thoughtful and respectful way, keeping you informed without inundating you.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!

Victoria Diocese Youth Leadership Team Visits The Gabriel Project

Our Executive Director was happy to host the Victoria Diocese Youth Leadership Team for an informative visit to learn about our ministry and the incredible efforts of our volunteers and donors.

The youth had the opportunity to get involved by making Giving Tree ornaments, a meaningful way to support our mission.

A special thank you to board member Vanessa DeDear for helping provide the lunch, and to Lydia Whitten and her team for helping oversee the festivities.

We are so grateful for their energy, support, and willingness to make a difference!

Mark your calendars for January 30, 2025, at 6:30 PM! We will gather at De Leon Plaza and walk to Our Lady of Sorrows. This event is hosted by St. Gianna Beretta Molla Pro-Life Ministry from Holy Family Catholic Church. All Christian denominations are welcome.

The evening will feature Carol Everett, a former abortion clinic owner, as the keynote speaker. She will share her powerful testimony of transformation and hope.

We encourage church ministry groups, youth and young adult groups, Christian clubs, and other community organizations to join us for this inspiring event. Together, we can stand in unity and faith for the dignity of life. We look forward to seeing you there!

Free Monthly Diaper Distribution at St. Patrick's Catholic Church

We are proud to partner with St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bloomington, Texas, to provide a Free Monthly Diaper Distribution to families in need. Most diaper sizes are available, along with limited baby formula and clothing.

While we’ve successfully held three distributions, there will be a short pause in January, with events resuming in February. Items are limited, and distributions will continue as long as supplies last.

We are seeking a dedicated community member to assist with these events. If you’re interested in volunteering, we’d love your help in supporting local families!
